Matt Reid

I have been interested in all types of sport from a young age, however gymnastics sparked an interest early on and I learned the basics up until I was about 12 years old. I started training seriously at university and competed for 3 years for Loughborough Students Gymnastics Club. Having an amazing coach and a great deal of training hours inspired me to take gymnastics seriously and since starting at Loughborough I have trained 4+ hours a week for 6 years.

2 years ago I signed up for membership at Crossfit Nottingham and since then I have fallen in love with the place, the people and the Olympic Weightlifting. I have added weightlifting into my training schedule and shared gymnastics knowledge with anyone who came to me for help. Since I started at CFN the desire to help others reach their gymnastics goals has grown and I have begun my training to become a qualified gymnastics coach. I also hope to have completed a Crossfit Level 1 Coach within the year.

I have a passion for movement efficiency and helping others use their strengths to their advantage. I am always learning and analysing movements, however the main goal for me in gymnastics is enjoyment and to see someone achieve a skill for the first time is just an awesome experience. I hope to continue to be a part of these moments for as long as possible.
