The CrossFit program challenges all levels of fitness. No matter what level you are starting from, you will be trained as an athlete in order to gain levels of fitness you never realised you could attain. We are results based and you will see and feel the effects of CrossFit in a short period of practising the sport.
In CrossFit we pursue function, not just form. We don’t use one dimensional, dysfunctional gym machines, we use basic movements and equipment such as ropes, kettle-bells, barbells and medicine balls in a friendly community based training environment, filled with motivation and friendships forged through adversity and camaraderie.
You are invited to join one of our CrossFit classes for a free taster session. You will join our members through a one hour session and you will be looked after by one of our expert coaches. Please do not be daunted, CrossFit is infinitely scalable and you will not be asked to perform anything outside of your comfort zone. By the end of the session you will experience genuine satisfaction from completing your first CrossFit workout, and you will be struck by how friendly, supportive and inclusive our community is. You can book onto a CrossFit class at any time of the day, any day of the week. A follow up email will be sent to you explaining the membership options should you be interested in becoming a member.
The taster session is totally free and there is no obligation to continue, if you want to begin your CrossFit journey, following an induction, memberships range from £61 to £77 per month.
We have created a new active practical learning induction program. New members will be able to join in the main class WODs right away, learning the movements and scales in their guidebook under the watchful eyes of our coaches. Once the coach is satisfied that you have attained sufficient proficiency in a specific movement it will be signed off. Once all the movements in the handbook have been signed off by the coach you will have completed your induction. The timescale for this is open ended – in proportion to the frequency in which you attend classes – but we anticipate most new members will have completed their induction in around four weeks. We feel this new induction process will encourage better, more thorough learning, and enable new members to get involved right away.
Not everyone wants to train in groups and may prefer a one on one package to gain the confidence allowing them to move forward into the group sessions.
The private package consists of 2 dedicated sessions with a CrossFit Nottingham coach. We will aim to provide you with the skills and confidence to join our group “induction” classes or straight into the main workouts.As a beginner you’ll be introduced to a scaled down version. Weights, reps and times will be adjusted to suit the individual. Once you are able to comfortably work through the movements with some intensity you will be invited to attend the CrossFit classes.
CrossFit Nottingham has open gym facilities during opening hours. Individuals can come and train stand alone, choose a workout that suits a weakness, or just practice technique.
These sessions are not coached but instructors will be around to offer advice. These hours of operation are also ideal times to come and visit the facility and catch a glimpse of the evening class and chat with the CrossFit Nottingham community.
